O'neil Surf Trip Morocco

The waves have been awesome this year, lets hope it continues!!

Want to ride a CAMEL on your surf holiday - then you'll have to come to Morocco!!!

Hey Surfer's! This is the ocean view which overlooks 4 Surf spots - Killer point, La source, mysteries and Anchor point.

Taghazout

Taghazoute is a small fishing village 19 km (12 miles) north of the city of Agadir in the south west of Morocco. The inhabitants are mostly of Berber origin. Fishing, tourism, and the production of Argan oil being the main source of income. The developing tourism industry promises to increase the wealth of the area.

Surfing is now the common theme for visitors. Morocco is famous for its long right hand point breaks; thoroughly consistent and generally uncrowded. The most famous of which is a little to the north. In the right conditions this point can take you on a 2 km ride, starting at Anchor Point, joining up with Hash Point and ending on the beach break at Panorama's. It's called surfing from village to village. There are several other in and around the area making it an ideal destination for all levels of surfer. The waves work best between September to April especially for advanced surfers, receiving similar conditions to that of mainland Europe, but with the warm waters of the Moroccan Atlantic up to 21 degrees. The rest of the year, the surf is good for beginners and intermediate
Sufing Morocco

Morocco is best surfed in late autum through until march, the rest of the year can be pretty uneventful. When the big swells run down the coast the pointbreaks come alive and our advice is to head to Agadir. Althought there is not any surf in Agadir it is an easy place to get to and has world class waves a short drive north. Anchor Point as a must if you are going to surf Morocco, when it is on it can break up to a kilometre - talk about jelly legs! If you are adventerous (and very well prepared and organised) then head south from Agadir in a 4WD and discover some classic waves and maybe become the only person ever to have surfed there - that is something to fire the imagination.

MOROCCO

This winter if you are thinking about an exotic location to go surfing, but simply cannot afford Bali, Australia, Hawaii, or the coasts off South America, Morocco might be exactly what the surf doctor ordered. Along Morocco’s thousands of kilometers of coastline, you will be sure to find a spot, whether you’re a novice or on par with Kelly Slater.
The best times to surf Morocco are during the winter months. While the water is of course colder, the swells come through from November until March where you’ll find point breaks, especially near Agadir. For those more adventurous, Anchor Point, just north of the city, offers nice swells from December through February.
